Psychological evaluation for ADD or ADHD involves comprehensive assessment using a variety of evaluation tools and incorporating the perspectives and observations of various people in you or your child’s life. The assessment is designed to help clarify whether you or your child’s problems may be due to ADD or ADHD, and if so, to offer suggestions for what can be done about it. When I evaluate someone for ADD or ADHD, I provide a written report summarizing history, current symptoms, other possible contributing factors, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations. You will receive a copy of this report, and I can also, at your request, send copies to physicians, schools, and others who may need to have proof of the diagnosis or underlying issues.
